Sarah Riley - Ballet Director
Sarah grew up performing in musical theatre throughout the Sacramento area, dancing her first professional role at the age of 13. Sarah went on to train with The Sacramento Ballet Company under their founding director, Barbara Crockett. She danced numerous roles in ballets such as “Giselle”, “Cinderella”, “Coppelia”, “The Rainmaker”, “Spanish Songs”, and as a soloist in “The Nutcracker”. Sarah was also invited to study with The Boston Ballet where she was honored to be instructed by several legends of dance including Edward Villella, Helgi Tomasson, and Violette Verdy. In recent years, Sarah has performed in and choreographed multiple musical productions at The Acting Company, Runaway Stage Productions and for the Sutter Performing Arts Assoc. Her choreography for competition dancers has earned Platinum & Diamond level awards, as well as special judges’ awards. In 2013 Sarah made her directorial debut with the production of “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”, and in 2016 directed the benefit production of “Company”, both at The Acting Company. Sarah enjoys her time with her dance students most of all. She loves the time she spends training and coaching young dancers, and the opportunity it gives for her to share her experiences.
